Everyday life has returned to us more and more and we no longer have so many \u2018important\u2019 things to write about. Autumn 2023 almost didn&#8217;t exist. Winter arrived in October and remained persistent and extremely cold (several weeks below -30 degrees) until the beginning of May. But then it quickly became summer and really nice and warm. Three new calves were born between April and June. With Jakob as dad and the Scottish ladies as mum, a lovely mix has emerged. They are all doing well and are making the neighbourhood unsafe. The older calves are now together in the \u2018teenage pasture\u2019. Most of the time it&#8217;s quiet there, but every now and then the hormones go crazy and they run around. It&#8217;s marvellous to see how happy they are. Thanks to a successful fundraising campaign, we are able to re-roof the barn and now have our own band saw to cut the wood for all the upcoming projects ourselves. Urs is now permanently employed as a &#171;Skotare&#187; and Patricia is also working for the municipality for 9 weeks in the summer. As the Kaffestuga is also open on Sundays from Easter to the end of August, we are currently pretty busy. We are almost looking forward to the quiet winter again. We have opened our Kaffestuga, goats have moved into our farm and 4 calves are romping around in our pasture. Summer is the most active part of the year. There is a lot going on, we are happy about many visitors and enjoy the mostly sunny weather. He has settled in well, is friendly, bright and has already learned that it is quite nice to be groomed and stroked. A real charmer. Wonderful, the crisp fresh temperatures and colours of winter! We enjoy it very much. And: next spring is sure to come. This year not only nature will change, but also Str\u00f6mg\u00e5rden 1884 &#8211; lantliv. We are currently in the planning phase, but we can&#8217;t wait to get started. ! We are grateful and happy that we were able to experience a wonderful 2022. We were able to build and renovate a lot, design, have our first guests, enliven the farm with animals and flowers, gain experience and settle into a great village community. We had surprising and wonderful visits from Switzerland, were able to share our joy with dear friends and family, found a job and are living our dream. What more could you ask for? We are infinitely grateful for 365 days on our farm. And we look forward to what 2023 will bring. It will be exciting! At 01.10.2022 we were able to celebrate one year of Str\u00f6mg\u00e5rden 1884 with dear neighbours and friends as well as helping relatives. On the open day, we could taste delicious food, marvel at the animals and the farm, and the farm shop was opened. We can look back on a great, eventful, educational and successful year. Nora and Rubi moved in with us on Sunday and Tuesday and have already turned our little bull Bobo&#8217;s head. Of course they are two absolute beauties. Welcome, you ladies!<br>Unfortunately, the trailer we borrowed was not ideal for transporting the first cow. So we had to find a replacement  in order to transport the bull and the second cow safely. A big thank you here to Erik and Lars from <a href=\"https:\/\/tulinagard.se\/\">Tulina G\u00e5rd<\/a> for their quick, professional and friendly help! We hope we can continue to work with you.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>This week we also slaughtered our first animals. We took the pigs to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gorvikslantbruk.se\/\">G\u00f6rvik Lantbruk<\/a>. There they were professionally processed into fine meat. Many thanks for the good work.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>We took our handsome grey bull to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rafnaslakt.se\/\">Rafna Slakt<\/a>. Tobbe from the slaughterhouse noticed that it was not easy for us on the emotional part. We were all the happier when we saw how well the animals had it there until the end and how great Tobbe not only takes care of the animals but also of us humans. It will never be easy for us to give an animal away. But if we do, it will be to you. Thank you for doing such a great job! We were invited by two wonderful neighboring families, who we actually see more as friends. We enjoyed traditional food, sang (well, listen, as our singing talent is limited), laughed a lot, chatted in Swedish (as good as possible) and just felt great. We are just as happy as we could be! And just in time for midsommar, the summer temperatures have also arrived up here in the north. A dip in the lake to cool off works wonders. A colony of bees moved into Str\u00f6mgarden 1884. Soon we will even be able to make an offshoot of it. Together with the mother cows, the chicken and our dog lady Shila, they form the permanent animal residents of our farm. We are currently looking for another mother cow and a breeding bull. We had them in the incubator for 21 days. Since yesterday 4 chicken have hatched within 24 hours. Will the other 14 make it too? After we found out on November 2nd that we had received the residence permit for 5 years on October 29th, 2021, we continued with the express train. After we had made the residence card and registered with the Skatteverket, we were already allowed to fish the personal number out of the mailbox on December 3rd. What luck!
